Craigs List PC

Question
-
I got a PC off of craigs list for trade, AMD X2 3800 2GB RAM, Dual nVidia 7800GTX's And Windows XP Media Center Edition
I was suspecting the reason i couldn't run windows update ( kept coming up with errors ) was cause of the CD key, but all the genuine advantage checks clear, yet when i ran the key update program, just to be safe, it says the CD-Key is not valid.
is there someone who works for MSFT that can check the key for me. if not, then i'm screwed for an O.S and gatta run Lunix till i get the money to buy vista or xp pro for this machine ( got 1 copy from MSFT for a play test group, but thats on my laptop )

Both your installed copies of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office are non-genuine. You'll need to purchase genuine Microsoft Windows and perform a "clean install".Wednesday, March 21, 2007 11:06 PMModerator

Kissler,
If there is a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) on the computer, it is almost assuredly fully licensed to run the version or edition of Windows described on the COA. Does that help any?
