Unsubscribe link in Mail merge RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to have the "unsubscribe link" embedded into a mail merge template in the body of the email, so i can change the size, position and colour of the "unsubscribe link".  The "unsubscribe link" CRM inserts is far too large and not postioned where i would like it.

    thanks,

    Fultz

  • I do not remember seeing a direct button in mail merge through word. One work around though would to try out the auto insert of the link as explained in the above post and check the url or the mailto tag generated. It must be including some link to the current response so that appropriate campaign response and potentil customer is updated. This may not be possible through mail merge as it may not find the link to insert/associate with the original mail.

  • Hi Carsten,

The link you posted doesn't explain how to modify the unsubscribe link in "Email via Mail Merge" template or set the unsubscribe link in a differernt position.

    cheers,

    Fulton.

  • Hi Sam,

This is the code i extracteed from email for unsubscribe using your method mailto:[Run_Time_Address]?subject=[Run_Time_Subject]

I thought i could use mailto:?subject=UNSUBSCRIBE: with Smart Matching enabled, or is that incorrect.

    cheers,

    Fult.

  • I have never tried this and i wouldnt guarantee accurate results with Smart Matching enabled as in that case it tries to match subject string and when sent out through campaign more than one email would have the same subject line.

I guess you cannot include the unsubscribe option through Mail Merge templates then.
