Win 7 Pro Validation Process Stops with: Windows Validation Was Interrupted

Question
-
I was trying to install Windows Virtual PC and I have been asked to validate my copy of windows. I had to install windows activation update (my copy is already activated) and after running it the validation process stops with the following screen: Windows validation was interrupted. Windows Activation Technologies is not able to validate Windows on your PC. Not to worry, we can help you with that. Buy genuine Windows Of course I already have a genuine windows and I don't want to buy another one ! Anybody could please help? (PS I do not have any additional language pack installed) Thanks in advance.Sunday, January 2, 2011 4:07 PM

I'm at a loss with this one - I can only think that you have a firewall getting in the way (or an over-eager security app.) of some kind - Darin may have some ideas when he gets back after the break.

I don't see any problems in your Diagnostic Report and I have checked the product key, being used in your Windows, and it is Valid and Genuine.
I have to agree with Noel, it sounds to be some sort of disconnect between the Validation site and your Windows. Possibly a Proxy, Firewall or maybe even a security program of some kind. If you are unable to track it down yourself, you may need to contact Microsoft assisted support at one of the below URLs for additional assistance.

Please run the MGADiag tool in your VM - it should tell us what's wrong. To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

I'm confused! There is a significant amount of data missing from your report - did you perhaps edit it before posting? From what's left, all looks as it should, for a bare-metal install - the machine appears to be activated and validated. What happens if your go direct to the Validation site?If that gives problems, go to the Diagnostics page, and see if that can help.....otherwise, I can only suggest changing the browser before attempting the download /install again

Noel,
I didn't delete anything from the report, just copy and paste. If I go directly to the validation page the rolling circle stop rolling after abt 15 / 20 seconds and after a while I get the message I quoted at the beginning of the thread: Windows Validation Was Interrupted. While if I go to the diagnostic site the results are all: "passed."
I am pasting again the report, just to be sure:

This is an old post but I just ran into the same issue and could not figure out the answer. I agree with the comments that it might be a firewall issue. I was trying to run the activation via my institutional wireless network (required for the KMS activation). This would not work, but once I connected my laptop to an ethernet cable it worked without an issue. I guess whatever was blocking the previous system was only active in the wireless network.Thursday, July 24, 2014 10:41 PM

Looking back through the thread and with the benefit of a lot more experience, I believe that NeGrusti was actually closest in this instance.
The report shows the error 0x80080005 which is I think a Access Denied error.
From this viewpoint, uninstalling and reinstalling the WAT update KB971033 would be the first thing to do - if that failed, then investigating the file and registry permissions around the update should clarify the issue, and we could proceed from there.
