  • Question

  • our newish laptop got the message that windows needed to check the system,  then we get the message that our software is not genuine!!!   we bought the computer with windows 7  from best buy last year!!  tried all I could but gave up and installed LInux,  has anyone else been ripped of by microsoft like this,  we are worried about our desktop doing it next!!  the money we have wasted over the years on windows  and we could have had an honest system like linux all that time..taking some getting used to  but understand it's worth the effort?

It's almost guaranteed that there was no real problem with your Windows installation - if you'd posted here at the time we could almost certainly have fixed it.
Having said that, you could reinstall the system using the manufacturer's Recovery system or disks, and then try again - it will probably work perfectly this time.
