how to run crm process on demand? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello - how can I run a CRM process on demand?  Specifically, I've created a process to be used a scheduled batch job.

I want to trigger this process to execute.  I would expect that there would be some process management area where I could double click on the process to run it, or right-click the process and select "run" from a context menu.

However, I'm not able to find any type of interface like this to execute the process.  So does CRM provide an interface to do what I'm describing?

  • Hi,

CRM processes (workflows) need to be triggered off of a record instance.

  • Hello,

OOB there is no specific area in CRM platform, where you could perform this. However, you could create custom entity to create your OnDemand workflow on same entity.

Hope this helps. If you get answer of your question, please mark the response as an answer and vote as helpful !!!

  • Hi,

One solution could be to have an external program connect through the API and trigger the workflow. That program can be scheduled to run on certain points in time. It's a bit of an ugly workaround and need a computer to run but could be a solution.
