[UWP]Converting UWP Extras to Xamarin Extras RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on converting my UWP apps to Xamarin.Forms apps. I have written many extension methods and other utilities that are in an external project and use many of the classes that are part of the UI (such as XAML controls). However, because most of these classes are different between UWP and Xamarin (for example, TextBlock in UWP vs Label in Xamarin), I need to modify this to use the Xamarin controls. What do I need to do to enable my project to access the classes necessary for Xamarin.Forms? Thanks.

  • Hi,

So your question is about how to access Xamarin control class in UWP app. This out of the scope of MSDN UWP forum. I'd suggest you to ask about this in Xamarin official forum about this. There will provide more support about Xamarin.

  • No, my question is about how to create an external project that can use classes such as Label, StackLayout, etc. For my UWP projects, I had a project that contained extension methods, converters, and other code that I used in all my UWP projects. I want to create a project with modules, classes, and other code to use in my Xamarin projects.
