  • So can you successfully log in now?  There are only two fields on the contact that you need to set - the username (make it equal to your domain username) and logon enabled (must be checked).

  • Are you using Live ID login for the portal? If so, you'll need to create an invitation code and invite the contacts to use the portal.

  • No,  I've configured as on-Premise.

  • On the contact form, go to "Web Authentication" and make sure you've entered a user name that you'd like to give access to. This has to be a user on your domain if you're not using live id. Then log in using the username and domain password.

  • Hello Ekrem,

I believe you misunderstood what Palak was asking.  She wasn't referring to how you deployed CRM (online or on-prem), but whether or not you are using Live ID for portal authentication.  The customer portal ships with Live ID, but the framework supports any ASP.NET membership provider.  As an example, I have documented how to replace the Live Id authentication with Active Directory on my blog site.  Palak's instructions to you were assuming you also replaced the Live ID authentication with an Active Directory membership provider.

So to be clear, are you using the customer portal exactly as it shipped, or did you change the membership provider in the web.config and logon pages?

  • Hello Shan,

    Thanks for Comments.

I have read your document and have changed the configuration from using liveId to using Active Directory Membership according to this.

  • I have reinstalled CRM and Customer Portal and then made configurations according to Shan's blog, now it's working. I advice using webcopy tool under utilities folder in order to upload website to CRM.

    Thanks everybody for help.
