Evaluation/trial copy warning expiration at 30 days, not 120 days RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello-

I installed a trial copy of WHS a few weeks ago.  All the Microsoft web pages said the trial was 120 days.  However, the server has been warning me that it is going to expire in a few days.  The expiration appears to be 30 days.

I haven't had a chance to evaluate the software (I thought I had four months and have been working other projects instead).  Is there any way to extend the expiration?

Thanks for any help you may be able to give me,

  • You need to activate the software. If you don't, you have the 30 days you've noted. This is a common requirement for just about all Microsoft operating systems.
I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

  • Thanks for your prompt and informative response!  Now I will have the time to do a solid evaluation before I pay.
