Windows no longer deemed genuine after Windows 10 upgrade error

Question
-
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on a laptop a friend built and sold to me. He installed an OEM version and it had always passed Genuine Certification in the year and a half I have had it. It passed authenticity to install Office 365 and was considered valid by the Windows 10 Upgrade software. The upgrade failed after throwing some kind of hardware error, though, and ever since it has been saying my copy of Windows is not genuine. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks so much,
Asa

Unfortunately, the installed OEM SLP Windows 7 Ultimate license was pirated and therefore determined to be non-genuine. You will need to purchase a genuine Windows 10 Pro license in order to upgrade to Windows 10.
