Sync toy Deletes and creates files that have not changed in Echo RRS feed

  • Question

  • SyncToy 2.1 on Windows XP Pro SP2

I have been noticing that SyncToy when using Echo, deletes and then recreates the files on the right even though there have been no changes in the left folder to any of the files.  Hopefully that is the only problem with what's going on but with so many files on my computer I can't monitor all of them.  But I use the preview and that's how I see this going on.   This is taking up much more time with the sync process than necessary.  Any fix for this?

    Thanks for your help.

  • I'm seeing something similar.  A sync on two consecutive days will show file changes in stuff I didn't do anything to, not even access them.

Could it be that you are accessing these files and the last access time is being changed?  I'm running into this variation of the problem.
