Populate a reportviewer control with XML data in VS2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I am curious how difficult it would be to use XML data as the source for a reportviewer control.  It would be nice if I could just tell the reportviewer where the XML files is located and then the fields would show up in the designer and I could start designing my report.  I can't find any good documentation on this anywhere.

    I have looked here:
    www.c-sharpcorner.com/.../XmlReports04182007115639AM/XmlReports.aspx

    www.aspfree.com/c/a/ASP.NET/...to...ReportViewer.../2/

    www.gotreportviewer.com

None of these tutorials had specific enough instructions and didn't work correctly in VS2008.

Is there any documentation available?  If not, are there any other tools that might be useful for building a report from XML data? I just want the best tool available, but I will hand code it in ASP if necessary.

    Thanks,
    Phil
