How do I hard-code queries and recordsets? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Can someone please help me to understand how to hard-code queries and recordsets in VS 2010 and use those queries to execute if-statements and manipulate data in a database?

What I want to do is, amongst other  to create a login form in an application where the user enters the information, then the program searches the login table to see if they can log in, if their credentials are correct, or if they're already logged in.  I've seen online help for creating queries and recordsets, but they're all using a wizard instead of hardcoding.  Plus, you must pre-create the recordset before you can fill it, instead of just creating a record set "on the fly".

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated and a huge help.
