Hi guys,
Yesterday, in Dublin Ireland i purchased a product key for MS Office 2010 when in fact the computer i had recently purchased actually had 2007 pre-installed. Is it possible that i could download MS Office Home and Student 2010 online from somewhere whilst
deleting 2007? It was a silly mistake on me behalf i realise, but the guy in the shop said 2007 isn't used anymore hence why i assumed my new laptop was running 2010. Is there a solution to this or will i have to try and return the key if possible?
Thanks Microsoft

What type of "Product Key" did you purchase? If it is labeled as a Product Key Card there should be instructions there as to how to obtain backup (or in your case original install) media for the installation.
You can also go to this site to see how to obtain the disk or download:
If you only purchased a Product key and it isn't labeled any other way then you have purchased a bogus key as the only company allowed to sell (other than Product Key Cards) only product keys with a download option are Microsoft
Store, Digital River and Dell computers.
Let us know if this assists you or if you have more questions.
By the way, if it is a Product Key Card version then it is only ever valid on the first computer it is installed and activated on and can not be installed onto more than the one computer. That is a restriction on that
type of license.
