MAK Confirmation ID Application Issues after Reimaging RRS feed

  • I have a line of computers that all need a slue of updates and to be brought back to a uniform state. So, I have started the process of re-imaging the machines. All of these have confirmed been activated and genuine by our VAMT program (VAMT3 provided by microsoft as part of our mass license agreement). None of the hardware on these machines have changed so there should be no reason that CID should suddenly not be working. When I go into my VAMT database, I can successfully apply the CID from there, but it still comes up with the 'not genuine' message. I had a problem like this earlier and went through a long lengthy process with phone support who suggested that I activate each individual machine by telephone. I have a couple hundred machines to do this with. This is not cost-effective and will take too long to push out these updates if I have to call for each machine. I have supplied the MGADiag below.

  • I would suggest rebuilding the Licensing Store...

    Recreate the Licensing Store

    Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories

    Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt

    Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

    net stop sppsvc

    (wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

    CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform

    REN tokens.dat tokens.bar

    net start sppsvc

    slui.exe

    After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.

    You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.

    If you are asked for your Key, use your MAK one

    Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report.

    (Note: the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it may be broken in the Forum listing)
