strange behaviour one harddisk with 2 partition RRS feed

  • Question

  • hello, i have a problem with WSS, I use one harddisk with 2 partition (C and D drive), system file is in C drive, D drive is empty, i create user in WSS and login with that user, user profile in C drive.  My problem is when i open Microsoft Office and save file to D drive, it said drive is read only, lock, etc. How to fix this?Because in WSS handbook it said that WSS will lock only system/windows partition not other partition. Thanks

Yes. Windows SteadyState (Windows Disk Protection) can only protect system partition. This issue is probably system related issue instead of SteadyState. You can temporarily disable all restrictions in SteadyState, remove it and then check the result.
