LM Creates new folder RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi

I am syncing between two computers.

On computer 1, all the folders are correctly named and synced to the correctly named location.

On computer 2, I sync to the identically named folder which appears to go ahead, only to instantly change the location name, it drops the first letter.

So, I now have MyDocuments on computer 1 and yDocuments on computer 2 full of synced documents.

Computer 2 also has a folder at location MyDocuments also full of the same documents that were happily syncing with LiveSync.

I have repeated this with 8 folders; each one drops the first letter and creates a new folder.

    Have I done something wrong?

    Mike

I assume you are referring to Windows Live Mesh, not Live Mesh - www.mesh.com

For discussion of the new Windows Live Mesh (formerly Sync), (as well as the released Live Sync version) go here:

I believe your issue is a bug that was recently identified with Windows Live Mesh. No idea when it will be fixed.

  • Steve Thanks for your quick reply.

I am off now to unistall WLM and reinstall the application I was using before.  Can you let me know when WLM is fit for purpose?  I have now hours of work sorting out the computers that now are bursting with duplicate files.

    Mike

PS Even this text editor doesn't work properly, I can't see my cursor, oh dear.

The forum software leaves room for improvement, too. :-)

I don't know when a fix will be made. However, go to the other forum to see if there's more information about it there.
