Because update application was dependence this service. And may I know, can you use Windows update?  This question is to confirm your network setting can connect Microsoft server.

  •   Thanks for your posted and provided your informations, could your please try below steps that setting or check IE proxy server.
    1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN Settings.
    2. Under Proxy server groups, click to select the Use a proxy server for your LAN check box.
    3. In the Address box, type the IP address of the proxy server. (Please used a free public proxy address and configure your IE LAN settings to use this proxy address.)

Hope it helps.  Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks!

In the meanwhile, i went back to 14 nov2010 with Norton Ghost. At that time fixit work very good.

I changed the proxy, Port 8080 . That gives the same error.

  • I checked with "portforward.com " ,open port checker.

Port 8080 is open for UDP and TCP. (I had already verified without the d-link router ,if these ports were open.)

SFC  \ scannow indicate that the registry, is ok.

The fact that so many customers have the same problem. Could it be a  Vista-update somewhere in the middle of 2010, who cause this error ?

hopefully we find a solution in the near future !

  • Hi patrick,

Thanks for your posted. Based on your above described, I know many customer have the same problem, but the solution was that under different root cause. The reason maybe is IE net work proxy setting, maybe is permissions issue, firewall, virus scans or other third part software setting. In next version, our developer engineer will be fully considered yours and other customers correct  recommendation. You provide information was very important to us. Many thanks.
