Large Subject tree sets and performance when used on form in CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Hi Experts,

    We are looking at the option of using Subject lookup on the Incident entity.  We would have a huge set of data up to 5 levels of the tree.

     

    The question is when a user wants to select a value in the Subject lookup, will it be slow if we have large sets of data for the lookup to come up?. 

     

    Also, how is the data loaded into the tree view?  Will it be like as we expand each level, the data is loaded or data will be loaded into the lookup all at once?

  • Hmm, no answers :(

    Okay, here is what we observed after importing quite a huge set of data, say around 1300 records in total under multiple levels.  When the Subject lookup was clicked, the performance was good.  It loaded instantly and we were able to drill down and select any level of subject without much delay in load/performance.

    Hope this might help someone who is looking for an answer to this.
