windows 10 not recognizing printer

Question
-
I installed windows 10 several months ago with no problem. Now (probably a week ago) the program is not recognizing our printer. Says the printer is "offline" when it is not. Even a connection check at the printer shows it is connected. After working on this for literally hours and even purchasing a new printer, we have the same problem.
Seems like perhaps a MS update changed something and created the problem. Any thoughts?? Any help or insight would be appreciated!

Hello,
The 'Academic Initiatives - General Discussions' forum is for any posts not covered under any of the other forums as related to Microsoft's Academic Initiatives.
As it's off-topic here, I am moving the question to the Where is the forum for... forum.
