    There is a minimum password length check on Windows Home Server.  The limit is fine for older kids and adults, but I have younger kids that use a shared pc and have no passwords.  Is it possible for them to authenticate based on computer name and login name plus an optional password?

    At this time (during the beta program) the answer is no. Eventually, you will be able to set them to authenticate with the server by login name with no password.

    If you start up WHS Console, go to the User Accounts tab, right click a user, and select Change Password... from the menu, you'll see a help link titled "Learn more about password requirements". That section of the help file shows what the options eventually will be.

    Right now we're wired down to 5 character passwords.
