windows home server RRS feed

  • Question

  • I find that when i click on stuff within the home server it is slow to react.  Is that normal.

Also, i look in my list of backups and they are old, ie last is June.  I have told it to back up daily but it does not show any indication of that.

It seems to freeze a lot, or at least delay.  At the moment it is telling me that it is not responding.

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting in the forum.

Regarding the slow performance issue you mentioned first, would you please provide more detailed information about it? Have you received any error messages?

Regarding the backup issue, please try to refer to the following articles to troubleshoot it.

I do not receive any error messages with regards to time to log on to home server.  Just tried now and it took about 15 seconds so i guess that is ok.

the big issue is that the backups note that June is the last backup, while there are no 'error' messages within the program and i believe it is set to backup each day.  I note that daily backups are to be kept for four days and weekly for 4 weeks and monthly for 6 months.

i may have just figured it out.  The date within the program was set for June 2009.  That is probably why i have had a problem.

I will watch it and see how it is doing for a couple of days.  I guess the date control is seperate from the date on my computer, probably because the program (whs) is accessing a web-based located program?

    thanks
