Correct way to use Contracts RRS feed

  • So I want to use CRM for our telephone support department. In the manual it recommends not to add Contracts to a Account but rather add a Account to a Contract.

    "Note: Although it is possible, creating a contract from an account is not recommended. The contract does not associate to the account correctly and allotments are not recorded."

     This seems pretty backwards because when a customer calls I immediately go to their account to see what they own and then image I would open a new case. We allow a certain amount of minutes per annual contract.

    So can someone shed some light on what will happen if I add a Contract under an Account?
