Phone 7 support for the browser?

Question
-
Hi!
After using the Vail server and the remote access features such as streaming music, videos and browsing photos, the most obvious question is: will MS release a Vail plugin for Phone 7 once it has been releeased. It makes much more sense to have this in the phone than in the browser, and since the current Vail browser app uses Silverlight, it wouldn't be so tricky to move it. Just think about it, you can watch a recorded tv on your way home from work, or listen to your favourite music without having to transfer it to the phone first.
This would be my favourite application for the Phone 7 once it arrives
kind regards
Henrik

It's likely that your remote streaming experience will be left to use the Silverlight player. So if your phone supports Silverlight, it should work today (assuming you have a fast enough connection).

Have you submitted any product suggestions on Connect?
I'll admit that I can't fathom why anyone would want to watch their media on a 4" screen; I have a hard enough time on a laptop. :) But if you want to see a change to the product, that would be where to start. Though I don't think the Windows Home Server team will develop anything for the phone, per se; they will likely leave that for others.

Hi!
What I am thinking about is how they will integrate the media from the WHS into the user experience in Phone 7. If you have watched the demo of Phone 7 on youtube you notice they mention facebook, live spaces and phone as sources for photos (as example), but they don't mention your WHS. This makes me a little worried... I do hope the WHS team and the Phone 7 team work together on this one.
What I basically want is to access and play/view all the media on my WHS from my Phone 7, seamlessly. Just as I can do in this beta within IE.

Ken, that link didn't work.
What I am concerned about is, where does Vail fit into the big scheme of things, Windows 7, Mesh, Live Spaces, Media Center etc. MS has a record of creating some really nice things, but is lacking when it comes to tying it all together, promoting it and pusing the integration to the edge.
I agree with you that perhaps tv is not your first choice of media on a phone 7, but surely the music, the pictures etc should be available. Im not sure yet how you add new sources to the phone 7, but surely Veil must be a valid source just as live spaces or facebook. Otherwise users will be confused as to where they should store their media, don't you think so?
Of yourcse not every user with a phone 7 and facebook has a WHS, but I think MS should add some value to the users that does infact invest the money on this kind of solution. Kind of like 1+1 = 3
cheers

this is a reply to the other thread, as I can't post to it:this depends on how they implement and expose the feature. In Windows 7, Play Tois exposed inside Windows Media Player and Windows Explorer, but NOT MediaCenter which is certainly what many people want.Ayca already said: "Play to is not exposed on Dashboard. Since Vail Serverdoesn't expose media player the Play to scenario with Vail Server requires a DMC(digital media controller): using WMP12 (or another networked digital mediaplayer that supports Play to such as some mobile phones like Nokia N76) you canbrowse content on Vail Server libraries and play the content from Vail Server onanother networked digital media player/renderer in the same network. "..Which basically means that your device can *pull* the info or if you haveanother DMC (like PlugPlayer for the iPxxx) you can pull the content and send itsomewhere, but there isn't an interface like there is on W7 to SEND it usingPlay To.On Tue, 15 Jun 2010 12:07:42 +0000, Henrik Nordgren wrote:
