Need the URL of windows phone activesync

Question
-
I have searched for hours. I am developing an activesync client in order to send sms from PC to a phone that will send it. Specifically a windows phone. Previously I have used Jeyo mobile comp. I have all documentation I need but I can't find the default http address of the activesync server on the Windows phone when it is connected through USB. I should mention that I have a disability and can't access Windows phone itself. The OS is 6 but the whole point of creating the software is so I can upgrade. Many thanks!

Hi ThaneP
Welcome to the Developing Universal Windows apps forum! Please utilize tagging when posting to this forum, thanks!
I’m confused about your question.
- What do you mean about acitvesync client? Based on your words, the app is used to send message between PC and phone?
- The Jeyo mobile comp is a third-party program, am I right?
- As you mentioned above, you could not access to your windows phone through USB. May I know the OS version of your computer?
- The OS is 6. Could you please tell me the detail version information? For example windows 10 1709 build 16299
This mechanism is the same as the Bluetooth device detection principle
Best regards,
Roy

1, 2 yes. Everything works fine but I can't find the default URL and credentials of the exchange server on the windows mobile phone. This is not an OS or hardware problem. I just can't find the information that I am looking for. Desktop Windows 7Tuesday, December 5, 2017 10:38 PM

@ThaneP
It seems that you want to create a windows app in Windows 7. It is out of the scope of UWP Forum. I suggest that you might need to ask about this in the desktop Forum.

Roy

Not sure why you keep mentioning third party programs. My question has nothing to do with that. Seems I am jumping through hoops to get basic information. Very unhappy.Wednesday, December 6, 2017 3:24 AM

@ThaneP
I'm sorry. Maybe I did not explain this very clearly and you may therefore little confused.
You are trying to develop a Windows application to send sms from PC to Windows Mobile 6. But the ActiveSync is not compatible with Windows 7. I’m not sure that if you could develop the application with ActiveSync.
You could refer these threads for more information about ActiveSync in windows 7: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mobiledevices/forum/mdupdate/active-sync-windows-7/742ff7c5-4bf8-46ea-9010-bc18c22d1ea9?auth=1
Anyway, this question is out of the scope for UWP forum. Windows Mobile 6 is different from Windows 10 Mobile. Windows 10 Mobile belongs to Windows 10 device family.
You could read this document for more information about UWP: What's a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app.
That’s why I said you are posting your question in the wrong forum.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards,
Roy

I have been using activesync in Windows 7 for years. Again I need information on how to mimic the connection or alternatively another api to send and receive text messages from my Windows phone via my desktop.Wednesday, December 6, 2017 7:58 PM

alternatively if I am barking up the wrong tree, i need to know what tree to bark. for example serial ports. i would only need code to connect and read/write. otherwise is there a way to detect the information with csharp, ipconfig definitely isn't detecting windows mobile and activesync definitely works.Thursday, December 7, 2017 9:11 PM

Hi ThaneP,
Thank you for posting MSDN forum.
As far as I know that ActiveSync allows a mobile device to be synchronized with either a desktop PC or a server running a compatible software product including Expresso Livre, Microsoft Exchange Server, Axigen, Horde, IceWarp Server, Kerio Connect, Kolab, Novell GroupWise, Tine 2.0, Scalix, Zarafa/Kopano via Z-push, or Zimbra.
The ActiveSync application is very powerful. I think the one API cannot instead of the functionality. About Microsoft Exchange Server development, you need to know office 365 technology.
If you are developing software and encounter some error message, you can post it.
For office 365 issue, you can post on here. Since your issue is not related to desktop development forum, i will move the case to appropriate forum for better support.
Best Regards,
Hart
