WTS Overlapped I/O operation is in progress Error 997 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Im working with WTS, and for some reason I keep getting this error "Overlapped I/O operation is in progress." error number: 997, when calling this method on a remote server:

WTSQuerySessionInformation (Srvobj, 0, WTS_INFO_CLASS.WTSSessionInfo, out buff, out readbuff)

    Anyone have an answer ?

With greate code, comes greate complexity. so keep it simple...

  • check to see if MS update kb2918614 is installed and if the process works when it isn't, I think it won't make much of a difference in your case but it helped me when I had SQL 2008 installation Overlapped I/O issues. (the update buggers up ?permissions? in the MSI)

Check permissions maybe or see if something else is accessing the same location at that time (or hasn't closed their access properly)
