Internet Explorer 8 Update

Hello world
I have the little yellow shield in my system tray, indicating that an update is ready to be downloaded. Unfortunately the download is for Internet Explorer 8, and I don't want to download (much less install) it. How can I get rid of that shield from the system tray without downloading IE 8? If I right click it, it only opens the automatic updates window, to download it.
