Activity access to User in "To" lookup field CRM 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • HI All,

I created an email activity with the user "John" in the "To" lookup field on the email activity form. The problem here is the User "John" in the "To" lookup field does not have access to the activity created. Note that there are user level privileges for the activities for user "John". Are there any setting to provide the access to the email activities marked to the Users in the "To" or "Cc" fields.

    Thank you,

  • Hi

Did u send the email or just created it by saving the email ?

If you just created it by saving the record (and did not send it), then this is similar to a draft email. It shouldn't be visible to other users until you send them (as activities are set to user level privilege).

  • Security is not driven by the To/CC or other non "Owner" user relationships.  CRM native security drives around ownership of records, and not additional relationships that may be made on entities.  You can manually add N:1 relationships to the System User entity, but doing so does not drive

However, you can have a workflow assembly created that will share the Team record based upon an action.  Then you can call that assembly when the To or CC fields are updated, and share your activity record with whomever you want to give them permission.

    Hope this helps!
