XP Reinstallation fails validation RRS feed

    I've recently reinstalled xp sp3 with my Lenovo product reovery discs and am now unable to install Microsoft Essentials

    because "Windows did not pass validation" is reported.  The diagnostics are:

  • Hi Rob,

      First off, would you go to http://microsoft.com/genuine/diag and click the Start Diagnostic.

      If you get all green check marks then go to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate/ValidateNow.aspx?displaylang=en and click the Validate Windows button and follow the directions.

      If Validation goes thru without any issues, then re-try Windows Essentials.

     

      If you have any problems or get any errors at any point in the above steps, provide me with the exact error (or describe the problem) you received and exactly at what point it occurred.
