Giving Username password from powershell to created VM RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have basically created VM using powershell commands and done some commandlet binding for connecting the created VM.

I am able to do all that in Hyper-V. But I need to  provide username and password to the VM once it is fully up.

Any idea on how to do that part of providing the Username and Password once the VM is started?

Is there a way to do the same from Powershell?

    Regards,

    Karan

  • The username and password are part of the operating system that you need to install.  Any Microsoft operating system installed can be provisioned with MDT.  THisis not part of Hyper-V but is part of the OS installation process.

  • Hi Jrv,

    Thanks for addressing the question.

So I am installing some Proprietary OS basically. I am providing my ISO image. Once it gets booted up, I need to give some credentials like Username and Password to the booted image. I was wondering if we can do that using powershell or any other way to automate the same.

    Regards,

  • Contact the vendor of the OS.  PowerShell only knows about Windows OSs.
