    Straightened me out .........I was under the impression that the WGA Kit was an OEM version.  Retail makes me happier.  That would save a great deal of money.

  • The WGA Kit is a full retail version of Windows XP.

    In your sitiation the WGA Kit is a much better value because as Carey posted it is a full retail license, and full retail licenses can be moved from one computer to another.  That may be of value to you, because if the computer in question first came with W98SE, it's likely an older unit that may be reaching its end of usable life.  With the WGA Kit's retail license, you have the flexibility to go out and buy the components needed to build a better box, and then you can just move the retail license from the old box to the new.  You would not be able to do that with an OEM license.
