Bonus Pack Ineligibility RRS feed

  • Question

  • As a few of my customers have had issues with the Bonus Packs I decided to go through the process with a customer of mine.  The following report is generated on a notebook PC (VBI) built by ASI with both the OS and Office Pro 2007 coming from ASI and therefore through a legitimate Distributor and being resold by my company which is a registered Microsoft Partner and OEM.

Any assistance in resolving this so I can continue to recommend this program to my customers would be appreciated.

  • Hi AEgdall,

Thank you for posting! It appears the sku you are installing is a Retail version (your diagnostic shows "Windows License Type: Retail") not a the "system builder" sku. The retail version will fail the eligibility criteria when the customer goes through the redemption process. Since ASI is a participating vendor ( www.localpcbuilder.com/eligible), I can assist your customers with redemption if they post here and indicate that they purchased their machine through ASI.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    Thank you,

    Jenifer

  • Hi AEgdall,

If you create a support incident at https://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?c1=509&gprid=9860  and post the incident number here I can get your contact information from our support organization and e-mail you directly.

You might also want to check out Sisconda's post in this thread: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1706312&SiteID=25. It appears that in some cases, activating Windows may resolve this problem. (If you try this and it does, please let me know!)

    Thank you,

    Jenifer
