An unwanted entity has made an umbillical cord to my computer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Recently a new F drive has appeared when I click on My Computer. I am unable to get any information relating to this drive and when I search F, it tells me to insert a disk.

All of the names of my Drives except C are now different, D is now E which is the CD drive, and there is suddenly an F. There have also been various and sundry other occurances that I can't put my fiinger on. I installed One approx. one week ago.  PLEASE HELP IF THERE IS ANYONE AVAILABLE WHO MAY BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THIS ENTITY. Thank you in advance for the kind soul who tries to help me.

  • The F: drive likely is the mapping for a removable flash drive. If there is no slot for flash media on your PC, it could be a slot on your printer. It is most certainly not malicious.
