WHS will not back up new drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • I want to move a 1 TB drive from my tower to my server. Need the 1 TB in the server , more than in the tower. Used WD`s Acronis to copy the entire partition/drive to an older 120 GB SATA drive. All went well, except now I get a warning that my tower has a new drive, and to go to WHS , click configure backup. I do and WHS wont let me.New error message: WHS can not access the computers hard drive. Please make sure the computer is powered on ( it is ) and connected to your home network. ( it is )

Any work arounds,Now What should I do ?

  • WHS doesn't work well with cloned drives. I suggest you go ahead and remove the backup computer and connector and reinstall it. WHS should hopefully reconfigure when you reinstall the connector

(Might want to wait 24 hours before bumping, as this is mostly a forum of volunteers.. not anyone doing tech support 24/7)
