When an exteranl disk is connected during tune-up, will it be defragged? I know there is no way to exclude it. Just wonder if tune-up defrags it as internal hard drive. Yes? No? My tune-up report shows defragmenter imcomplete 'cause <F: This task was not performed because of system, ACL, file mismatch or system wide error>, F: is my exteranl. Is it normal? or indicates there is a problem? Shoudn't the message appear, shoud it?
I would suggest that you run disk error checking on the external drive to rule out any errors. OneCare Tune-up does run a defrag on all drives, including external drives. Right click the drive in Windows Explorer and select properties, then Tools tab, Error Checking button. -steveMicrosoft MVP Windows Live / Windows Live OneCare, Live Mesh, & MS Security Essentials Forums Moderator
