Back-up an external USB connected drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • OneCare appears to be set to back-up only the My Documents folder on the internal hard drive. Is there a way to back-up an external USB drive?

  • No, OneCare will only backup from internal drives. It isn't limited to \My Documents, but scans the entire drive for matching file types to your backup plan with some limitations.

On the subject of backup, I am wondering if it is possible to save or backup system restore points to an external hard drive?

  • No, that isn't possible, nor is it desirable. If your thought is to be able to recover a failed hard drive, you need to obtain and use a Disk Image solution such as Acronis True Image.
