The License type is a KLM Volume License - which requires periodic re-activation with private servers owned by the organisation which issued the license.
You need to contact your System Administrator for assistance.

In what context?
Without context an error code can mean almost anything!

I am getting that same error code. I am trying to re-activate an Army Gold Master Windows 7 image that I use for work. It says the Software Licensing Service reported that the smartcard inserted could not be used to activate the product.Wednesday, February 8, 2017 8:55 PM

MGA Diagnostic Report is Required:
To properly analyze and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once downloaded, run the tool.Click on the Continue button, after a short time, the Continue button will change to a Copy button.Click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your post.Carey Frisch

You may want to try the InstallRoot application provided by DISA. Also make sure ActiveClient is current.Wednesday, April 12, 2017 1:38 PM
