How to use Team Source for version control for existing projects

Question
-
I have VS 2017 Pro and have a number of projects in the default path C:\Users\jjacobs\Documents\Visual Studio 2017\Projects\<projectname>
I just started Team Source for my company MSDN subscription. I chose Team Services rather then GitHub. Now I am in one of my projects and I just don't see how to put the project source into source control. I selected TEAM > Manage Connections and I don't know where to go from here.
How do I accomplish this?
Thank you,

I guess I worded my question badly. The link shows about converting TFS to VSTS. I believe VSTS is what I have. I just need to know how to check in my existing projects.

This is "where is" forum for direction on where best to ask questions. The VSTS MSDN forums were archived and discussions moved to SO, so I'd re-ask over here.

Yes, this is a where is forum. I am totally surprised to find a Microsoft product, VSTS, supported in a non-Microsoft forum. Oh, well.

Used to be on MSDN, but that one was archived and discussions moved.
