Outlook Client Connection Problem RRS feed

  • We are yet another case of struggling with the outlook client.

    We have CRM 2011 installed and seems to be working fine with the web client with either http or https (self-signed certificate) configured.

    The outlook client works fine if we have the site setup for http, but when I try to change it to https following the instructions for securing the CRM site, the outlook configuration wizard fails with the standard 'cannot connect' message.

    The CRM50ClientConfig.log shows the following which I'm not sure I understand what to do with:

    Exception : Security Support Provider Interface (SSPI) authentication failed. The server may not be running in an account with identity 'host/myhostname'. If the server is running in a service account (Network Service for example), specify the account's ServicePrincipalName as the identity in the EndpointAddress for the server. If the server is running in a user account, specify the account's UserPrincipalName as the identity in the EndpointAddress for the server.

    Anyone run into this issue?

  • Sounds like the client is attempting to access an active directory attribute.

     

    Is the client attempting to access CRM 2011 Online when not connected to his networks.

     

    We had another user yesterday have an issue like this.

    Did you get this resolved? I'm having the exact same issue at a customer site - works for http, doesn't work for https.
