Help! Lost excel and other problems!

  Hi

  I did an upgrade of microsoft a while back and since then my PC has not worked properly.

  If i try to open an excel file it says 'insert the microsoft office XP professional with frontpage disk'.

  A friend i don't see anymore set the computer up for me so i do not have the disks.  I am wondering if she set up a version that is not genuine so microsoft has deleted some of my applications.  Is this possible?  What can i do to correct?

   

  Also, i try to downloads macromedia flash player and it says it has downloaded but i then plug my video camera back in and it still says i don't have it!

  Argh, computers!
