I was wondering if anyone got McAfee 8.5 successfully installed and running on their WHS, and if so did it affect the performance of your WHS a lot?
Will I be able to run it without performance issues, I have a Celeron 1.6 GHz, 1GB ram, 2x500GB HDD, 2x750GB HDD?
Is the any settings I need to change for WHS?

I have been using Mcafee 8.5 since the beginning of WHS and have suffered no performance / operational issues.

If it installs you are likely to run into performance and / or other problems. McAfee and Avast already have dedicated AV products for WHS. Also F-secure has recently released WHS version.

Installing an A/V on WHS that is not WHS-aware is not recommended and unsupported. WHS doesn't handle files like other MS OSes and some A/Vs may treat normal WHS operations as a potential virus.Sunday, November 9, 2008 12:06 AMModerator
