    legit purchase; called HP 2x and they tell me to look on the battery.  No luck.  No 5x5 code on battery, or in the owners manual, or anywhere

    its of course, a netbook, running starter edition.

    Hello Daugman,

    They probably meant to look in the battery compartment under the battery.
