Windows 7 may not be Genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Before the report. We are a gold partner and have MSDN and other accesses. The laptop in question has Windows 7 Ultimate installed on it, downloaded and installed by me from msdn. The key was not given to anybody else and used only once. Orignaly it had office 2007 (msdn) on it but I upgraded it to office 2010 (msdn). Again office(s) were downloaded and installed by me and keys were not given to anybody else.

Windows started having this message that it may not be genuine after Office 2010 was installed. But sometimes it shows it and sometimes it doesnt.

    Advise please.

  • First, relax because there is no indication of a blocked key.

However, you have a tampered service we need to contend with. Type services.msc in the search box (start menu) and select the program that shows up, scroll down to the "software protection" (sppsvc) and select it, right click on select properties, click on start (assuming the service was stopped), now under the startup option, insure it says "automatic [delayed start]" Click OK. Close the services.msc and reboot, visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and attempt to validate.
