My pen drive creating problem... RRS feed

    Oops, this week has been a troublesome week for me.. First my modem caused a problem, then my IE and now my pen-drive....

    My pen-drive is Intex 256 MB .. It was working fine last week.. Now, this week the Pen-drive stopped responding.. Whenever i insert my pen-drive, the system hangs and the instsnt i remove it , the system comes back to life..

     

    I have completley scanned my system with lotta Anti-viruses .. The list includes

    1)McAfee (This is my default anti-virus)

    2)Avast

    3)live one care

    4)Zone lab

     

    No viruses were found.. Whats the prbable cause of the error?? . My pen-drive works fine on other systems...

    Hi,

    It seems that the problem is not with your pen drive, but with your USB Port or the USB Drivers of your OS.

    Try attaching other USB devices to your USB Port. If that works, then you might have to check whether some driver has got corrupted or not.

    I zeroed on the problem.. I uninstalled the programs that were installed last week.. I found that Daemon tools which i has installed were the cause of the erro...

    Other pen drives just works fine, even the 20GB ipod works fine. But the 60GB iPod hangs out ;P

    But what does the demon tools got to do with the pen drive??? I m still not able to understand that....

    May be its trying to detect new removable drive, and it hangs cause its not a cd or anything ?
