    Is it possible to have access to CRM 4 via mobile express without having and IFD deployed?

    Technically it is possible. You'd just need a URL that points to your CRM server. You can confiugre the CRM website just like any website in IIS to be externally accessible with the right DNS and ports. Your users might get prompted twice to log in though, once to authenticate with Windows credentials to the domain, and another time to the CRM mobile express website.
