  • The TechNet Gallery was experiencing a great deal of spam submissions. The admins reduced the spam by requiring a certain minimum number of recognition points before you can contribute. We do not know (and probably should not know) what the minimum is.
To earn recognition points you need to have forum replies marked as answer or helpful. Details here:

Also, the TechNet Gallery will be retired sometime this year. Details in this blog post:

You need a GitHub account to publish in the new Doc samples site.

  • Tnaks you firend for your answers,

but if i cant publish in the galery ?? or if the galery will be retiered where i can publish ??

i saw from the article that we can add our code or project to github ? but who i can shared it and there is the points if the people use it from github to make me be MVP for exemple ??

thanks a lot, because a have passed a lot of time to create a very interessed tool for community, and it would be a shame if people can't take advantage of it .

  • My understanding is that GitHub allows you to configure others to help develop your code. It can be integrated with Visual Studio. I assume you can also allow others to view and copy the source code, and perhaps comment and ask questions. Maybe you can allow people to download a setup program to install the application.

I believe Microsoft intends to recognize GitHub activity, particularly for MVP consideration. But I have seen no details.

I have not moved any of my scripts from the TechNet Gallery to GitHub, so I have no experience. GitHub does not seem appropriate for PowerShell or VBScript administrative scripts.

Best for you is to read the help topics here, and perhaps ask questions in the forum:

it would be a shame, i worked a lot to make a tool but now i cant shared it, another question can i shared my publication github on technet without risk to be blocked ?
