shared calendar on WHS RRS feed

  • Question

  • I volunteer for an organization where all the employees use outlook 2007. Is there a way to come up with a shared calendar on WHS so that everyone can edit it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • No. Windows Home Server doesn't support Exchange, which is really what you will need for a true group calendar that everyone has access to. There are other solutions that will let you sync calendars between multiple PCs; you might want to look into some of those tools. Google has a tool that will let you sync an Outlook calendar with a Google calendar, for example. You can link multiple PCs to the same Google calendar, which might get you what you need.

Try this search and this web page as reasonable starting points.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)

    Hi Ken,

Would something like Alfresco do the trick he's looking for? (And would
it be supported on WHS?) It's an open-source variant of a SharePoint
Server (at least that's my take on it). So if Alfresco itself wouldn't
work, maybe there's something similar that would?
http://www.alfresco.com/ is what I'm referring to. I'm curious because
I thought about implementing it myself.

    Have a great day:)
    Patrick.
