Validate office professional plus 2010 as genuine

Question
-
I purchased a download copy of Office Professional Plus from Softwares4Ready.com. Initial Activation Key would not work, a refund of the purchase was then requested. However, a second Key was emailed, which sucessfully activated the product. I am still unsure as to the software being genuine, having read recent posts. The Validation tool is of no help, it states no copy of Office installed. I have run the diagnostics and the result is (edited out my Win7 details):

Hi Dan
I have followed the support link you suggested. I am not sure which 16 characters you refer to as there are 16 entries in {......0FF1CE}'s.
The first one in the list is:
{90140000-0015-0409-1000-0000000FF1CE}.
Hi Carey,
Could you confirm this copy is not genuine?
Regards
Scapel
As I said earlier....It is counterfeit, because Office Professional Plus is only available to organisations in bulk, for use on their own PC's - it cannot be sold to the general public. The only organisations that currently are legally allowed to sell Office by download are MS itself (through Digital River), and Dell, as far as I am aware. Anyone else who sells you a Key, and then points you at ANY download site is breaking the terms of the license, and the resulting copy is non-genuine, and illegal.

Your copy of Office is a counterfeit one - Office Professional Plus is ONLY for sale to organisations for use in their own PC's. Sale to the general public is prohibited.Claim a refund from the supplier, and report them as the pirates they are.--

Hello scapel,
At the moment, the mgadiag utility has not yet been modified to work with Office 2010. My understanding is that modifying the mgadiag utility to work with Office 2010 is a much bigger job than when previous editions of Office have been released because Office 2010 has an entirely new Software Protection Platform (similar in concept to Vista and W7) and previous versions have had no internal system whatsoever.
Could you have a look at this MS KB article and post the first 16 characters of the GUID of your installed Office 2010? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2186281 That might help us assist you.

Hi Dan - can I just check that this also applies to the product in DVD form (not just download?)...
My son is a student and after running the 2010 Pro Plus Beta he accepted an offer from an organisation which has always been 100% reliable in providing MS software in the past (so I'd rather not name them for now)... Their offer was for discounted Office for Pro Plus 10 for students (they always validate the student/educational establishment) and it came on the usual microsoft media with hologram marked as for student and/or faculty use only.
He had to uninstall the beta first but it then loaded fine and appeared to activate succesfully with the supplied key but when he followed a microsoft e-mail link to confirm validation it comes up with the 'no office product is installed' reply.... We are very cautious with these sorts of thing and it does pass my normal 'is it ok 'criteria - appearance of the media/previous experience with this vendor...are you absolutely certain that this is an issue with the software and not an issue with the validation process/protocol for this product?
Brgds

Hello Mach 2.0,
At the moment the Validation site (www.microsoft.com/genuine) does not perform validations on Office 2010 installations, so the response of "no Office product is installed" would be expected until the site is reprogrammed to work with Office 2010. The mgadiag utility has not yet been programmed to recognize Office 2010.
It is my understanding that Office Professional Plus 2010 is an edition of Office that can be distributed by post-secondary educational institutions to students and faculty. A limited number of specialty retailers that specialize in the education market were authrorized to sell Office 2007 Professional Plus to students (as opposed to the general public), so it's probable that such an arrangement was continued with Office 2010.
Microsoft itself markets a slightly different edition of Office 2010 to post-secondary students, for example: http://www.microsoft.com/student/office/en-us/default.aspx

Copies of Office Professional Plus 2010 are also available to MSDN, BizSpark, TechNet, and Partner Action Pack subscribers. I, for one, am a Microsoft Registered Partner and TechNet Plus and BizSpark subscriber. I just upgraded my desktop PC and did a fresh install of Windows-7 Professional to a certain configuration for developing a Visual Studio and Office 2010 solution for a client. I am getting the alert message every 4-6 hours saying I have a copy of Office that is not Genuine Software and may be counterfeit; Yet I downloaded the copy (an ISO image) directly from Microsoft.
I guess the MGADIAG utility still has not been updated. The Microsoft Genuine Software website aparently still does not recognize the Office 2010 products as of this past weekend.
