Hi all, I have and run several computers of different types. I use both Windows XP pro and home and I keep them updated with the avalible updates. I've noticed that the windows folder keeps growing in size, I've also noticed that after doing the updates there are folders in the windows directory that look to be the update folders/files. Are they install files that can be removed, if so how can I do this without messing up the os. Thanks

Hello iamstretch, if you really need the drive space you can copy the hotfix and service pack uninstall folders to an external drive or cd/dvd ( should you need them in the future ) then delete them from your Windows folder.Jim
They are not needed for the proper operation of Windows but I do recommend saving a copy because without them you will not be able to uninstall any currently installed hotfixes or service packs if for any reason you might want or need to do this.Jim
