Windows isn't genuine. Build 7601. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. My computer has been fine, now all of a sudden the wallpaper is black and Windows isn't genuine. I had this fixed a few months ago but it went back to non-genuine again.

  • you are using a Dell OEM SLP key on a HP computer. that will never work.

your install was done using a hackers loader program in an attempt to-fool Windows Activation technologies. Your bios is too old for a win7 OEM SLPkey. (5/6/2009)

you will have to purchase and install genuine windows or revert to the windows your computer came with.

)   OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes from the Factory. This key is geared to work with the special instructions found only on that Manufacturer's computer hardware. So when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP key (at the factory) Windows 7 looks at the motherboard and sees the special instructions and Self-Activates

  • In addition to George's comment, your computer was manufacturered on May 6, 2009

    <Date>20090506000000.000000+000</Date>

but Windows 7 was not available for installation on new computers until July 24, 2009, more than two months later.  It is not possible to have a legitimate OEM SLP (system-locked preinstalled) copy of Windows before that date.

You need to restore the original copy of Vista that came with this computer or purchase a full retail licensed copy of Windows 7.  This copy is pirated.
