If the key is not readable, about your only options are to either purchase a new Retail copy of Windows, or to restore your computer to ex-factory state using the Recovery process - see your manual for details.

I can see no good reason for the non-genuine message - which usually means that the problem is a corrupted Licensing Store....
Please try the below steps to recreate the Store files.  This may resolve the issue.

    1) Open an Internet Browser window.
    2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
    3) Find the file CMD.exe
    4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
    5) Type: net stop slsvc  (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Softwar eLicensing
    7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
    8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
    9) Type: net start slsvc
    10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
    11) Restart your computer twice.
    12) You may be required to enter the Product Key and/or Activate.

     Reboot

Once complete, please post back with a new MGADiag report

  • The Vista OEM SLP serial in use on your system is not for your manufacturer.

It is a Windows Vista Asus Home Premium OEM SLP serial.

OK - you need to boot to Safe Mode, change the Default Browser back to IE, and then go back to Normal mode.

Sorry - there's a typo there (caused by copy/pasting - my fault for not checking!)

    6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing

(note the lack of the space
    you type
     cd   %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing

Simply type in the whole of

     cd   %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing

    by way of explanation....
cd - means Change Directory to......
%windir% is a general windows instruction to insert the path to the folder where the Windows files are - 99% of the time in Vista, that will be C:\Windows  (there are exceptions, which is why we use this format) - Windows understands what %windir% means and inserts the proper string before execution.
The rest of the line is the folder tree down to the files that you need to get to. Unfortunately there's no built-in  shortcut to anywhere near that we can take advantage of so we have to do it the hard way.
